UoN project empowering girls with data science skills for public health transformation

Over 800 girls and women from underprivileged backgrounds will gain data science skills, to apply in health science, courtesy of a project by the University of Nairobi in collaboration with the University of San Francisco.

The project dubbed ENabling Girls in AI and Growing Expertise (ENGAGE) targets to train girls and women from high schools, TVET and Universities on data science with the view to using the knowledge in data science to solve local public health problems.

Prof. Obimbo listed among 100 Most Influential Africans of 2024

The University of Nairobi congratulates Prof. Moses Obimbo Madadi for being recognized among the 100 most influential Africans in 2024 in the field of Science and Academia by the New African magazine.

The London based magazine released its highly anticipated annual listing of the 100 Most Influential Africans of 2024 to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Africans from various fields and sectors who have made a positive impact on the continent and the world over the past year.

Varsity marks 72nd graduation, FHS graduand emerges class of 2024 valedictorian

The event which was presided over by the Chancellor Prof. Patrick V. Verkooijen saw 5,243 graduands conferred with various degrees and diplomas of the University of Nairobi.

Out of this number, 884 were from the Faculty of Health Sciences. The 884 candidates were presented to the Chancellor for the conferment of their respective degrees by the Faculty Dean Prof. George Osanjo.
