EAKI Hospital and Training Centre

The East Africa kidney Institute (EAKI) was launched on October, 2014 following a senate approval. The Institute was to address the burden of chronic kidney diseases that are emerging as a major global health problem with heavy morbidity and mortality with its associated social and economic burden. They are the 12th cause of death and 17th cause of disability. East and central Africa region is experiencing a great need for the scientific base knowledge and skills for the practice of urology and nephrology.

USAID comes to the aid of final year medical students

The University of Nairobi (UoN) School of Medicine received Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) support worth 12 million Kenya shillings from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The PPEs were handed over to UoN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama by Mark Meassick, the Mission Director of USAID Kenya and East Africa on 16th September, 2020.
